Drama Club For English Language Learners
Through play and performance, develop your English language skills, meet new people, laugh and create together.
These workshops are open to anyone with English as a second language (refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and ESL students). This is a fun and welcoming space to play with zero pressure!
A FREE activity - travel costs from within Bristol will be reimbursed each session.
Classes will develop your confidence in speaking English, inspire your creativity and improve wellbeing, using:
- Games
- Movement
- Voice techniques
- Improvisation
- Storytelling
For ages 16+. No previous experience needed. All levels of English welcome.
LED BY
Classes are led by Hester Welch from Spilt Ink Theatre. Hester has taught English through theatre in China, Malaysia and France as well as directed and taught professional and community theatre internationally. She mainly creates devised theatre that is socially engaged, highly visual, physical and immersive. Working in diverse communities, cultures and environments continue to inspire her.
Summer term: Tuesdays 6.30pm – 8.30pm, 23rd April – 2nd July 2024. Please be aware there will be no session on 28th May, due to the half term break.
