Ernest Carpenter's Fine

Manager Ernest Carpenter was repeatedly cautioned for allowing raucous behaviour in the Theatre, and for keeping the Theatre’s bar open too late. Eventually he was called before the Bristol magistrates for 11 offences in February 1903.
As the Theatre was going through a difficult financial period, it’s understandable that Carpenter was trying to maximise spending on alcohol.
