Children's casting Call - Lanny

Bristol Old Vic is seeking a young actor of mixed heritage for the title role in their upcoming production of Lanny, based on the acclaimed novel by Max Porter, adapted by Bea Roberts and directed by Nancy Medina.
This is a paid opportunity.
Please note that to be eligible, children must meet the criteria (see information below), be based no more that one hour away from Bristol Old Vic Theatre, BS1 4ED and be available for all contracted dates (see information below). Parents or Guardians must be able to transport them to and from rehearsals and performances.
Lanny – About the Show
Lanny is a contemporary fable about a curious and creative young boy growing up in a small English village. As Lanny navigates the relationships around him, an ancient presence lurking beneath the landscape begins to stir. When Lanny vanishes, the village is plunged into a desperate search that lays bare its divisions, fears and suspicions.

The successful actors will need to be available for the following periods of time:

Performance and rehearsal schedule to be confirmed. Rehearsal dates won’t be full time but may include some daytime, evening and weekends.

About the role:
LANNY
A Male, Female or Non-Binary actor aged 9+ (to play a male role), playing age 10–12.
Mixed heritage (White and Global Majority)
Lanny is bright, imaginative, playful and emotionally intelligent. He has an innate curiosity about the world and a vivid imagination that sets him apart. He is confident in his own creativity, deeply empathetic and able to connect with people of all ages.
We are looking for 2 young performers with strong natural acting instincts, excellent focus and a lively imagination. Previous professional experience is not essential.
We are particularly interested in meeting children who are confident communicators, curious, creative and comfortable expressing themselves. No singing is required for this role.
Whilst the character of Lanny is written as a boy we are happy to see male, female or non-binary actors for the part.
