Fabulous February Half Term!

1 Feb 2023

Mog the Forgetful Cat, Little Murmur and a Creative Creatures Family Day come to Bristol Old Vic for a fabulous February Half Term!

Keep the whole family entertained over the February half-term with two stunning shows in our theatre and the Weston Studio, plus our animal themed family day.

The mighty Wardrobe Ensemble (Robin Hood: Legend of the Forgotten Forest, The Star SeekersLittle Tim and the Brave Sea Captain) bring their charming adaptation of Judith Kerr's beloved, bestselling picture book series to the theatre stage from Tue 14 - Sat 18 Feb.

Embark on a journey through one year in the life of a remarkable cat as she catches a burglar, gatecrashes cat shows, goes to the V.E.T and eats lots and lots of eggs! Everybody's favourite cat might be forgetful but she loves adventure, regardless.

Directed by Jesse Jones and Helena Middleton, these timeless tales of family and friendship are brought to life to allow a new generation of children to fall in love with Mog. Find out more

For older children, the perfect introduction to dance takes place in the Weston Studio as the Aakash Odedra Company and The Spark Arts for Children, present Little Murmur from Thu 16 - Sat 18 Feb.

Diagnosed as dyslexic from a young age, Aakash Odedra found school very challenging: he spelled his name incorrectly until he was 21 and it was only after he "found the missing A" that he felt like he belonged.

Not wanting to be defined by his learning difficulties over his abilities, he found solace in dance.

Featuring groundbreaking projections, an extraordinary soundscape, and a blizzard of confetti and paper, Little Murmur is a new dance theatre show for children aged 7+, based on Aakash's immensely moving show Murmur 2.0, which explores the realities of living in a world you struggle to process. Find out more

Join us for our Family Day: Creative Creatures this Half Term.

Mog is not the first animal to perform on the Bristol Old Vic stage. Many dogs, cats and even dragons have prowled the theatre over the years.

This totally free event invites you to bring your favourite cuddly friend and the whole family down to Bristol Old Vic from 10am Mon 13 Feb, to meet the animals of our past and present through exciting crafts, educational workshops, historic tours and so much more. Find out more
