Cécile Aubry

Cécile Aubry was born on 3 August 1928 in Paris. Very early on she decided to become a professional dancer. At the same time, she took dramatic art classes.

At the age of 17, Henri-Georges Clouzot spotted her at Le Cours Simon and gave her the title role in Manon in 1947, with Michel Auclair and Serge Reggiani. The film won the Golden Lion in Venice the following year.

She played several important roles and signed a seven-year contract with Twentieth Century Fox.

Gifted in drawing and writing, she wrote children's books, Poly and Belle et Sébastien, which became a successful TV series. She devoted the rest of her life to writing. She died at the age of 81.
