Danyah Miller
Danyah Miller is an international storyteller, solo performer, writer and story trainer.
Danyah has adapted or written and starred in six theatrical solo storytelling shows, three of which are award winning including I Believe in Unicorns, by Michael Morpurgo, seen by over 95,000 people including three West End seasons. Her latest show, The Mystery of Little Angel Theatre, opened at Little Angel Studios this Autumn before a UK tour. Alongside her creative team, she adapted and recorded Frances Hodgson Burnett’s, The Secret Garden as part of a unique Story in a Box experience, in collaboration with Watford Palace Theatre and Oxford Playhouse.
Danyah co-produced two West End musicals, All You need is Love in 2001, and Olivier nominated Soul Sister (the Life and Times of Ike and Tina Turner) in 2012. In 2019 she produced Pippi Longstocking the Swashbuckling Musical Adventure in collaboration with Royal & Derngate Northampton and ABA Productions (UK).
For two years Danyah was the regular storyteller on BBC Three Counties Radio.
Danyah delivers storytelling nationally in a range of educational and theatre settings. Her online workshops reach an international audience. She was a workshop leader at The International School of Storytelling for over 10 years.
Her book Seven Secrets of Spontaneous Storytelling, published by Hawthorn Press, is available now online and from all good UK book retailers.
She studied drama, dance and English at Bretton Hall College, and later improvisation, mime and physical theatre at Lecoq, Paris.
