Desmond Brown is founder and CEO of Growing Futures UK a Community Interest Company which works with children, young people, and their families, impacted by school exclusions, serious youth violence, child criminal/sexual exploitation.

Desmond is the Independent Chair of the of Avon & Somerset (A&S) Criminal Justice Oversight Panel and sits as Vice Chair on A&S office of the Police and Crime Commissioner’s, Independent Scrutiny of Police Powers Panel. (ISOPPP). In March 2022 Desmond published his report, commissioned by the Local Criminal Justice board, ‘Identifying Disproportionality in the A&S CJ system’ which highlighted the issue of the ‘school to prison pipeline’ in A&S. Desmond continues to offer consultancy and training to law enforcement and educationalist with partners both in the UK and internationally.
