Dr Frank Peschier

Frank is the Dramaturg and Literary Manager at Headlong where she supports the writers under commission and acts as dramaturg across their productions, including The House Party by Laura Lomas. Previously she was the New Works Associate at the Liverpool Everyman and Playhouse, where her work as a dramaturg included A Billion Times I Love You, Our Town Needs a Nando’s by Sam O’Rourke, Cherry Jezebel by Jonathan Larkin, and Y’MAM by Majid Mehdizadeh. In 2021, she initiated and led on the extension of Rachel De-Lahay’s My White Best Friend-North which brought together 20 writers of colour from Leeds, Liverpool and Manchester for a series of live shows. She was highly commended for the 2021 Kenneth Tynan Award for dramaturgy for ‘her artistic leadership and passion in platforming and celebrating voices that are often left unheard.’

As a freelance dramaturg her credits include You're so F***ing Croydon by Katie Hurley and Raven by Abi McKenzie. She is a reader for the Women’s Prize, The Old Electric, The Royal Court and Sonia Friedman Productions. She writes regularly for Exeunt and The Stage and contributed a chapter to Nick Awde’s Equal Stages. She holds a PhD in Scenography and New Writing for which she received a TECHNE Doctoral Partnership Scholarship and a Post-Doctoral Innovation Fellowship. Her academic work includes papers presented in the UK and internationally at IFTR and TAPRA, as well as being the founding editor of JAWS: The Journal of Arts Writing by Students (Intellect Books). She has lectured in scenography, playwriting and contextual studies for BA and MA students at York, UAL, Arts University Bournemouth, LIPA and Liverpool Hope.
