Emmanuel Akwafo

Emmanuel won the Best Supporting Actor in a Play award at the 2025 Black British Theatre Awards for his performance as Bottom in the Bridge Theatre's A Midsummer Night’s Dream (d. Nick Hytner). Along with his fellow cast mates, Emmanuel was nominated at the 2023 Olivier Awards in the Best Supporting Actor category for his role as Pitch in Ryan Calais Cameron's For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide When the Hue Gets Too Heavy. He played the Narrator and Amiens in Sappho (d. Wendy Beckett) at the Southwark Playhouse and As You Like It (d. Ellen McDougall) at the Globe Theatre.

Television credits include: Netflix’s Sex Education (d. Alyssa McClelland) and The Crown (d. Stephen Frears), Fox’s 24: Live Another Day (d. Robert Cochran), as well as BBC series EastEnders (d. Alan de Pellette) and M.I. High (d. Robert Cochran).

Films credits include:Now You See Me 2 (d. Jon M. Chu) and Tarzan (d. David Yates).

Emmanuel wrote and produced autobiographical play Limp Wrist & The Iron Fist which premiered at Brixton House in 2025 to critical acclaim.
