Éva Magyar
Éva Magyar trained at Budapest Drama and Film University. She worked as an actress, dancer, choreographer and director on over 200 shows in Hungary. As the Artistic Director of The Shamans physical theatre company for 15 years she wrote and directed shows and won awards including a Herald Angel (Edinburgh), The Independent Award (US), Best Director (Cairo), Best Show (Poland) and the George Soros Award (Budapest). She teaches her unique acting style all over the world.
She worked with Kneehigh Theatre from 2003-2012, for whom credits include: Tristan & Yseult (National Theatre); The Wild Bride, Midnight’s Pumpkin and The Bacchae. Other theatre includes: Hedda Gabler, From Morning to Midnight (National Theatre); Romeo and Juliet (RSC); Marlene (Tristan Bates Theatre, London and Katona Jozsef Theatre, Budapest); The Arabian Nights (Tricycle); Breathing Irregular, The Sexual Neuroses of Our Parents (Gate Theatre); Ramayana (Lyric Hammersmith).
