George Blagden
George gained recognition for his portrayal of ‘Athelstan’ in the highly acclaimed television series VIKINGS for three seasons. This character's popularity and the show's success paved the way for a spin-off series, VIKINGS: ATHELSTAN’S JOURNAL, which was a collaborative effort. George also took on the role of ‘King Louis XIV’ in the hit series VERSAILLES, which aired on Canal Plus and BBC2. Additionally, he made a notable appearance in the Netflix hit BLACK MIRROR, with his episode, HANG THE DJ, earning a BAFTA nomination for Best Single Drama in 2018.
In more recent projects, George can be seen as the leading actor in the feature film THE GALLERY, where he stars alongside Anna Popplewell. He also portrays Gavin in the feature film RUBIKON and takes the lead in THE LAND OF DREAMS, a musical film produced by Italy's Leone Film Group for the international market.
George embarked on his career by portraying the cynical revolutionary character ‘Grantaire’ in the Academy Award-winning movie-musical adaptation of LES MISÉRABLES, directed by Tom Hooper. His film credits also include leading roles in independent films such as NO POSTAGE NECESSARY and HOW YOU LOOK AT ME.
On the stage, George showcased his talent by starring in the immensely successful West End production of COMPANY, directed by Marianne Elliott, alongside Rosalie Craig and Patti LuPone. He also took on the role of ‘Tartuffe’ at The Theatre Royal Haymarket, where he worked alongside Paul Anderson. His stage credits further include leading roles in Jamie Lloyd's THE PITCHFORK DISNEY at The Shoreditch Town Hall and PLATINUM at The Hampstead Theatre Downstairs, directed by Adam Penford.
