Hatty Carman and Tom Rasmussen
Hatty Carman – Music & Lyrics Originally from the West Country, Hatty started out composing scores for folk plays performed in churches, woodlands and derelict buildings. After moving to London, she met Tom Rasmussen, and together they wrote their first punk-pop album ‘Going For Gold’ under the name Thigh High. Hatty has been performing in the drag king band BOYZ for over eight years, and continues to collaborate with performance artist Rose Wood at The Box, Soho. Princess Republic, her early noughties avatar, hosts a monthly show on Netil Radio. Hatty also builds synth replicas, after learning how to solder in the pandemic. Her theatre credits include DOG (Camden People’s Theatre), Transphoria (ICA), On Railton Road (Brixton Community Base), ACM Presents (Soho Theatre), The River Running (Streatham Space) and Hippolytos (V&A Museum).

There they met Hatty Carman, and together they formed punk-pop duo Thigh High, who spent five years hosting ‘ACM Presents’ across London’s underground music spaces. 2023 saw the release of Tom’s debut solo album Body Building (Globe Town Records). Last year Tom toured the UK with Rina Sawayama and Self Esteem, before selling out their first headline tour at the end of 2023. As a writer they’ve published two booked — Diary of a Drag Queen (Penguin and FSG) and First Comes Love (Bloomsbury). They are a columnist at American Vogue, where they write about sex and relationships.
