Jenna Drury
Jenna Drury began her career in Theatre in Education, before becoming a primary teacher for five years. She then specialised as a drama practitioner. She has taught at York Theatre Royal youth theatre for over twenty years. In this time Jenna has written for casts aged between 5- 21, including devising and writing for young people with additional needs at Riding Lights Theatre Company.
In 2010 Jenna co-founded Mud Pie Arts. They deliver workshops and performances in early years settings, primaries and libraries, to empower children through story and play. Jenna’s MPA scripts always leave room for improvisation with the young audience. The children shape the story’s conclusion.
In 2021 Jenna published her first interactive children’s book ‘Cloud Tales’. Again the reader is invited to finish each story, as clouds have a habit of drifting off before the cloud spotter can catch the ending!
Jenna is passionate about environmental education and would love to hear from you if you could use class scripts that explore the changing world around them today.
