Kallirroi Vratti
Originally from Greece, Kallirroi is an emerging contemporary dance artist with a strong interest in choreography and movement research, as well as a yoga teacher. She has been based in the Midlands since 2018, where she completed her Dance BA (Hons) degree at De Montfort University.
In 2021, she was commissioned by Birmingham Royal Ballet to create a short dance film called ‘Detachment’ collaborating with Leona McDonough-Smith, which was presented at the Library of Birmingham. She has choreographed and performed in ‘Les Bonnes’ a duet based on The Maids by Jean Genet which was presented at the 17th Festival Internacional de Música y Nuevas Tecnologías, in Morelia, Mexico.
In the past, she has successfully received DYCP funding from the Arts Council England to further develop her movement practice and a new choreographic solo work ‘Liminal Home’.
Kallirroi has been selected amongst a few emerging artists in the West Midlands to receive mentorship by Dr Steve Ball through Creative Alliance. She now continues expanding her international network by performing and travelling internationally.
