Lawrence Hoo

Lawrence Hoo is an award-winning published poet and Co-Founder of CARGO Movement based in Bristol. After a youth spent in and out of the care system, Lawrence developed an uncompromising poetic voice, and a calling for working with people from disadvantaged backgrounds, whose experiences he had lived himself.

Through his work Lawrence has engaged with people of all ages in Bristol’s schools and communities as well as nationally and internationally through the United Nations Habitat programme, the YMCA, BBC, Watershed, Inner City Tales, Hoostory and CARGO Movement to mention just a few.

From poetry, education, campaigning to public speaking Lawrence’s work challenges, inspires, and offers solutions for change.
