About the Term
Music and Theatre have an amazing relationship; either one can enhance, juxtapose or even completely transform the other. During this term, we’ll use a variety of approaches to interrogate and develop the ways in which we can create, analyse and utilise music when developing theatre. These will include:
- Creating music for scripted work
- Devising around an existing piece of music
- Creating versatile music that follows theatrical rhythms
All levels of experience are welcome and ability to play a musical instrument is not required. Whether you consider yourself completely unmusical or you’re a virtuoso, what’s most important is the willingness to give things a go! We will apply scalable approaches to all activities, so there will always be a version that can fit your level of confidence.
