B*ll*cks to BrexitEuropean and British Voices Together
Blah's bringing you a range of poetic excellence from across Europe and the UK, in a tiny show of defiance, and a celebration of difference.
Don't expect political ranting poetry though; we've all had enough of the whole mess and we deserve a nice time. This will be about beauty, language, humour and solidarity in the face of idiocy.
Your excellent line-up is:
Bohdan Piasecki is a poet from Poland based in Birmingham. A committed performer, he has taken his poems from the upstairs room in an Eastbourne pub to the main stage of the Birmingham Rep, from underground Tokyo clubs to tramways in Paris, from a bookshop in Beijing to an airfield in Germany, from niche podcasts to BBC Radio. In the UK, he regularly features at the country’s most exciting spoken word nights, festivals, and readings.
Antosh Wojcik is a poet, drummer & sound artist. His debut solo theatre piece How To Keep Time: A Drum Solo for Dementia combines drumming & spoken word in an exploration of vascular dementia. It is produced by Penned In The Margins and has toured venues around the UK throughout 2019.
Sombras are a bi-lingual hiphop outfit based in Brighton. Collette and Jon Clark translaborate each others' social commentary from Spanish to English and back again, hunting demons by shining a light on the shifting shadows.
