Join Bristol Old Vic on our 259th Birthday to celebrate the unique and wonderful world we’ve been part of since 1766. We’ll be exploring the people, places and creatures that make our world so special, with crafts, workshops, trails and a performance from the Project Zulu choir.
All activities are free. This is a drop in event, but workshops can be pre-booked.
What to expect
Performance from Project Zulu
11am, Bristol Old Vic foyer
Project Zulu are bringing their 2025 South African children’s choir to Bristol Old Vic, as part of their UK tour. Formed of 20 pupils from their partner primary schools in the Madadeni Township, the choir are a spectacle of sight and sound with their incredibly talented singing and traditional Zulu dancing.

🎨 Crafts
Coopers' Hall, 10:30am — 2:30pm
Did you know there was marshland here before King Street was built? Make your own dragon fly, like the ones that lived here when this was once a watery habitat.

Find clues hidden around the building in an exclusive trail exploring Bristol Old Vic.
🎩 Dress Up
Balcony, 10:30am — 2:30pm
Get into character in our dressing up corner.
😌 Quiet Corner
If you need a break from all the fun, head to Sarah’s Den in the pit passageway to relax and read a story.
