This 1-hour online workshop will look at what it means and what it takes to get work made, now. Drawing from experience of producing a wide range of projects in various contexts, there’ll be practical tips, insights, experiences and anecdotes to leave you feeling a bit more confident in yourself and your producing practice. There’ll be a short Q&A at the end to troubleshoot your questions in the group. This workshop is for producers and those who don’t yet identify as producers (but who probably are), it’s for organisers/managers of performance projects, it’s for self-producing artists. It’s also a space for people who might want to know more about producing creative projects in Bristol and beyond. Amanda Fawcett runs Amanda Fawcett Productions Ltd and is Company Producer at Firebird Theatre. Previously, she was Programme Producer at HOME, Manchester where she produced and programmed theatre, performance, music and dance and curated festivals. Amanda was Lead Producer on HOME’s Co-Production of The House with Chicken Legs (Olivier Award nominee for Best Family Show - 2024), working closely with Co-Producers Les Enfants Terribles. Amanda was Associate Producer at China Plate, lead-producing a midscale tour of Inspector Sands’ critically acclaimed Wuthering Heights (named in The Stage’s Top 50 shows of 2023).
