The show comprises of five short plays written by emerging talents from around the South West, which follow the theme of 'The State We're In'. The Writer's Room is an invaluable resource and outlet for the region's wordsmiths and has already provided some fantastic work this season.The latest instalment promises five urgent, twenty minute pieces which interpret 'The State We're In' in a myriad of different ways. Be it politically, personally or with tongue in cheek, these contemporary, never-before-seen works are the perfect dish for those of you who like their theatre served fresh.Running alongside Short Fuses is The Writing On The Wall, a collaboration between UWE, Pervasive Media Studio and Bristol Old Vic. The words from this five minute script are projected in sequence on the walls of the Basement space as actors perform it.
