INKBLOC Ensemble Cast Bio | Genevieve

30 Jun 2017

Ahead of their debut show, LEGO Beach, we sat down with INKBLOC Ensemble to discover a little more about this year’s Made in Bristol troupe.

Here we caught up with Genevieve to find out all about her Bristol Old Vic theatre background.

GenWhat have you been involved in at the Bristol Old Vic and outside of Made in Bristol?
Before being one of INKBLOC's ensemble and one of the Made in Bristol 7, I was part of The Bristol Old Vic Young Company, which I joined in year 9! During my time with the Young Company I was in their 16-25 production The Light Burns Blue, which was where I learnt about the Made In Bristol course. I am also very honoured to be a teaching assistant to the young company on Saturday mornings, as well as being a member of their Box Office team, selling tickets one phone call at a time! Prior to Made In Bristol I was studying at Backwell school where I completed my A-levels in Theatre Studies, Fine Art and Geography.

What is this year for you?
This year for me has been to learn and absorb as much experience and knowledge from an amazing working theatre! Not just learning to devise with 11 other lovely theatre makers but all other areas of the craft like set design, marketing and many more opportunities that this theatre brings. It has been such a treat working in a building where so much exciting professional work is going on.

Favourite thing about INKBLOC?
My favourite thing about INKBLOC! Ahh it is so tricky to say because I love everything, but I think the other INKBLOCERs have made it an unbelievable experience and I have learnt so much from all of them! I cannot wait to see what else we create as a theatre family!

Plans for the future?
The dream would be to go to drama school, but definitely some further education in the theatre world would be the goal!

Tell us something interesting?
A skill I have... I'm great at whacking out accents from all across the world!

LEGO Beach is INKBLOC Ensemble’s debut show, on Walkabout at 1532 Performing Arts Centre 19-22 July. For more information and to book, click here
