Happy Birthday Young Company! | 30 facts for 30 years

In Nov 1994, Bristol Old Vic set up a theatre for young people which would go on to become the largest Youth Theatre outside London and inspire the creation of many other offshoot companies to harness the awesome creativity of young people across our city and region.

Originally named Bristol Old Vic Youth Theatre - it later became known as Bristol Old Vic Young Company and the name stuck. In the last 15 years the creation of sister companies Made in Bristol, Young SixSix, Young Company City and the newly founded Technical Youth Theatre have shown what value creative opportunities for young people can bring.

Keep an eye out for this year's Big Give Christmas Challenge starting on 3rd December when we’ll be raising money for Young Company City. 

Young Company City aims to tackle the inequality of access to creative opportunities in Bristol, specifically targeting areas in the city with limited access to the arts and arts education, particularly in neighbourhoods experiencing multiple deprivation.
