Has It Started Yet? | Young Ferment Rehearsal Diary

15 Apr 2019

Gabe Howard, Director of Has It Started Yet?, talks to us about what its like to be a first time director and little about how the show has been brought together. Created as part of Young Ferment, it will hit The Weston Studio, 25 – 27 Apr.

As a first time creator/director I wanted to make a piece of theatre that would be unlike anything that I (and hopefully our audience) had seen before. So, when I was told that my idea for an exciting, audience-centric piece had been selected for Young Ferment 2019 I was keen to get started.

Since then I have been lucky enough to work with an amazing cast (Lily, Ted, Sadie and Leon) and had lots of help and guidance from Maisie, Ellie, Chris, the Tobies, Alice and everyone else who’s watched, advised and helped out.

When rehearsals started we had lots of questions about what we were creating and how it was all going to work (questions I had little to no idea how to answer at the time). But, over the last few months we’ve been able to answer some of those questions and change the answers we started with to create something that we feel is a fun and engaging way to look at truth, morality, big red buttons and eggs.

We have had an awesome time making this show and we’re all really looking forward to testing it out on you, the unsuspecting public. Come along, back yourself, and HAVE FUN.

We hope you like what we’ve created.
