In the Light Everything is Brighter | Meet Hannah

26 Jun 2018

With their debut show on the horizon, we're getting to know each of the 12-strong company who make up this year's Made in Bristol company, WILDERBEAST. Next up, Hannah Hecheverria!

Tell us a little about yourself and how you made it into this year’s Made in Bristol company.
My name is Hannah. I was a part of the Bristol Old Vic Young Company, attending the weekly workshops before starting the course. I was able to experience making devised theatre in some of their shows that I took part in. I understood the course to be an opportunity to spend a year learning some 'tricks of the trade' and eventually creating a show.

What’s been your top moment of Made in Bristol so far?
We made a Christmas show for babies in December called Ice Ice Baby. I believe this experience gave us an advantage as we got the chance to work together to create a devised piece of theatre - although there were more restrictions making a show like that than we will have in July. It was exciting to see what we as a company were able to accomplish so early on in the process.

What does WILDERBEAST mean to you?
WILDERBEAST is dynamic, weird, visual, musical and very honest.

Is there anything exciting you can reveal about this year’s show?

The show may or may not be giving out real diamonds to whoever comes to watch. ;)

What are you looking forward to on completion of the course?
I'm looking forward to looking back at the year as a whole and seeing how much I have learned and developed as a theatre maker.

Give us a quick fun-fact about yourself!
A fun fact about me is that I have been learning to play the guitar - inspired by some of the amazing guitarists in WILDERBEAST.

This year's Made in Bristol company return to 1532 Performing Arts Centre to present their visceral new show 18–21 July. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
