In the Light Everything is Brighter | Meet Oscar

11 Jul 2018

With their debut show on the horizon, we're getting to know each of the 12-strong company who make up this year's Made in Bristol company, WILDERBEAST. Next up, Oscar Adams!

Tell us a little about yourself and how you made it into this year’s Made in Bristol company.
Hello! I have been a proud member of the Bristol Old Vic Young Company since age twelve and was very keen to audition for this year’s group having finished school and college the previous year.

What’s been your top moment of Made in Bristol so far?
A huge highlight for me was our first public performance of Ice Ice Baby, the Christmas show we performed for 0-3 year olds. Watching the faces of babbers and parents alike light up was immensely gratifying. Either that or when fellow WILDERBEAST member Beki Jeffrey Hughes downed a pint of milk for theatrical purposes. It’s a toss-up.

What does WILDERBEAST mean to you?
To me WILDERBEAST means being the best, most honest, most irreverent, most surprising group of humans and performers we can be.

Is there anything exciting you can reveal about this year’s show?
Nope. Sorry. Too exciting.

What are you looking forward to on completion of the course?
I am really looking forward to having such a wonderful network of fantastic, fun and creative people for the rest of my life and career. Both fellow members of WILDERBEAST and the other wonderful people of Bristol Old Vic.

Give us a quick fun-fact about yourself!
I am a qualified football referee and unqualified at everything else.

This year's Made in Bristol company return to 1532 Performing Arts Centre to present their visceral new show 18–21 July. For more information and to book tickets, click here.
