It's Carnival!

1 Jul 2023

It’s back! After a three year break, the whole of Bristol is ready to get its Carnival vibes on again and we’re with them!

St Pauls Carnival is a huge cultural event for the city, whether you’re there for the incredible music, parades, food, stages or stalls, it’s a chance for us all to celebrate the best of African-Caribbean culture in a huge, free community event.

In honour of its long-awaited return, we’re chatting to our Artistic Director Nancy Medina, who is excited to be part of St Pauls Carnival this year as a judge.

Earlier this year Nancy headed to her childhood home in the Dominican Republic for a research trip into Carnival. You’ll have to wait and see what that turns into (we’ll tell you here first!) but check out some of the amazing images she’s been sharing with us..
