Meet little bulb
10 Nov 2025
The brilliant Little Bulb theatre company have just arrived in Bristol to start rehearsals for Antarctica, a magical Studio Christmas show for our tiniest audiences. We are so thrilled to welcome them back, especially with this particular show which was performed for the very first time 15 years ago in our Studio.
We wanted to get to know the cast a little more, so took inspiration from Bristol Life Mag's Culture Club column to ask some of the most important questions we could think of!
Let's get to know the brilliant cast...
Meet PETA MAURICE
A film I could watch over and over again: ‘So I Married an Axe Murderer’ is very silly. I reckon I may already be able to quote 90% of it.
A painting that means something to me: ‘Starling Bird with a Pink Belly’. Can I say my 8 year old’s painting?! She worked really hard on it and it’s very impressive.
Best TV show ever: It’s going to have to be BBC’s ‘Ghosts’. I love that gang!
My favourite binge watch: My friend has just convinced me to watch Grey’s Anatomy.. I may currently be 20 years behind but I am loving it … and excited to see how they all age.
A book that changed my life: Well, if we’re talking life changing, I’d have to say Julia Donaldson’s ‘Stick Man’. It was when I was in the stage show that I met Julia (and her lovely late husband Malcolm) and we’ve been working together ever since.
A book I could happily re-read: James Patterson’s ‘When the Wind Blows’. I last read it was about 15 years ago and it still pops into my head every now and again.
My dance floor/karaoke banger: Simply the Best - just love trying to hit the high notes for the amusement of anyone watching.
Podcast pick: Currently loving ‘You’re Dead to Me’. Learning about a historical person whilst having a good old giggle. Feeding my obsession with Horrible Histories in a grown-uppy sort of way!
Sum up your life philosophy in five words: Being silly gets you through!

Meet AMY HARRIS
A film I could watch over and over again: Hunt for the Wilderpeople - Name me a bigger hero than Ricky baker?!
A painting that means something to me: I happened across a portrait of Author Radclyffe Hall by Charles Buchel at the National Portrait Gallery just as a talk was being done about the painting and the author. I loved Radclyffes book The Well of Loneliness so was thrilled to discover the painting.
The book that changed my life: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe ignited my love of reading and storytelling so definitely played a part in the journey I find myself on today
My dance floor/karaoke banger: I like to attempt Why D’you Come in Here Looking’ Like That by Dolly Parton at Karaoke but it's really fast and you need a lot of breath and I don’t think I've ever done it justice. Sorry Dolly!
Podcast pick: As a huge Lionesses fan, it has to be Big Kick Energy with Pacey and Goosey
Favourite TV show as a kid: Going Live on a Saturday morning with a bowl of cocoa pops
First record I ever bought: I can’t tell you, it’s too uncool!
The production I wish I’d seen: I love Sally Cookson’s work but never managed to see her Peter Pan and would have loved to
Sum up your life philosophy in five words: Laughter is the best medicine

Meet EMILE CLARKE
A film I could watch over and over again: ‘Mulan’ or ‘monsters inc’ OR the outtakes of ‘Brother Bear’!
A painting that means something to me: Nighthawks by Edward Hopper. I love the story it evokes.
Best TV show ever: The good place. The characters are lovable and fun.
My favourite binge watch: 30 rock. I’m a huge fan of Tina Fey and Donald Glover
The book that changed my life: 1984 by George Orwell. My political awakening.
The book I could happily re-read: Roald Dahl’s revolting rhymes
My desert island disc: Anything from Erykah Badu makes my soul groove.
My dance floor/karaoke banger: Groove is in the heart - Deee-Lite
Best app: PineAPPle
Guilty pleasure: I love cake and cake loves meee! The only thing between us is diabetes!
Favourite book growing up: The Faraway Tree
Favourite TV show as a kid: Round the twist
First record I ever bought: Michael Jackson history album book 1
Sum up your life philosophy in five words: Listen your inner child’s joy
