The Meaning of Change Project

25 Mar 2022

To celebrate The Meaning Of Zong opening soon at Bristol Old Vic, we commissioned a project to celebrate and share the change we want to see in our lifetime.

Our newest production, The Meaning Of Zong, tells the incredible true story of the people who sparked incredible change in the face of impossible odds.

To mark the play opening soon at Bristol Old Vic, we commissioned a project with Bristol University Students to talk to the people of Bristol about the change they have seen in their lifetimes, and the change they want to see.

The video that emerged from the project was premiered at a special 'Meaning of Change' event at Bristol Old Vic in March 2022, which also featured a panel discussion with The Meaning of Zong writer, director and star, Giles Terera, co-director Tom Morris, former Lord Mayor of Bristol Cleo Lake and actor, writer, director and lecturer Anni Domingo – plus live music by the show's Composer and Musical Director, Sidiki Dembele.

The video was filmed and edited by Bryony Morgan, Meghana Krishnamurthy and Tallulah Rees, produced by Rob Mitchell with the support of Bristol Old Vic. Massive thanks to everyone who was involved in the making of this video and the creation of the project.
