David Lloyd

David’s theatre credits include Oscar Madison in The Odd Couple, and Douglas Beechey in Man of the Moment (both York Theatre Royal), Joe Gargery in Great Expectations (Salisbury Playhouse), Saint Joan (Birmingham Rep), The Winters Tale (Contact Theatre, Manchester), Jack and the Giant (Forum Theatre, Manchester), Stags and Hens, Pravda (both Nottingham Playhouse), and The Government Inspector (National Tour, Compass Theatre Co).

Famous for playing Graeme in Maid Marian and her Merry Men and Will Driver in Casualty, David’s television career has seen him in EastEnders, Poirot, Waking The Dead, The Vice, The Bill, Bottom, The Young Ones, ‘Allo ‘Allo, The Demon Headmaster, Harry’s Mad, Brookside, Getting Hurt, Peak Practice, Grandpa in my Pocket, The New Statesman, Blessed. 

David’s extensive writing career includes co-writing Maid Marian and her Merry Men for the stage with Tony Robinson and Mark Billingham (Bristol Old Vic) and for TV: Casualty, EastEnders, Harry’s Mad, The Gnarfs, School For Vampires, Letterland and Loggerheads. He is currently writing his 70th episode of the BBC drama series Doctors.

For 9 years, David was also the voice of Bristol City FC, as the stadium announcer at Ashton Gate.
