Jyuddah Jaymes

Jyuddah Jaymes is a British actor and graduate of Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. His recent performance as AJ in Tarell Alvin McCraney’s CHOIR BOY (Dir. Nancy Medina, Bristol Old Vic) marked a celebrated return to his training ground, earning wide critical acclaim and contributing to the production’s three Black British Theatre Awards in 2024, including Best Play and Best Director.

Jaymes made his professional stage debut in TWELFTH NIGHT (Dir. Kwame Kwei-Armah, Young Vic), followed by THE AMERICAN CLOCK (Dir. Rachel Chavkin, The Old Vic), and ROMEO AND JULIET (Dir. Rebecca Frecknall, Almeida Theatre), where he played Tybalt.

Jaymes broke into screen with his debut role as Aubrey in season two of CLIQUE (BBC), followed on by SANDITON (ITV) where he portrayed the much loved Otis Molyneux. His recent work includes DJANGO (Sky/Canal+), hit-action movie FIGHT OR FLIGHT and Mike Leigh's latest film HARD TRUTHS. Other notable credits: Jesse Owens in THE BOYS IN THE BOAT (Dir. George Clooney, MGM), CRIMINAL (Netflix) and HIJACK (Apple TV+).

He has recently finished filming THE END OF IT for Elation Pictures/BBC Film and will be seen alongside Will Sharpe and Paul Bettany in the new series adaptation of AMADEUS for Sky Studios later this year.

Jaymes is thrilled to return to Bristol Old Vic as LIN in Timothy X Atack’s new play DELAY (writer of the multi-award-winning FOREST 404 for BBC Sounds, and HEARTWORM, winner of the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting), directed by Tanuja Amarasuriya (winner of the RTST Sir Peter Hall Director Award).
