Tatenda Shamiso

Tatenda is a London-based theatremaker, writer and musician with origins from Zimbabwe, Belgium, the United States and Switzerland. He trained at Goldsmiths, University of London, where he now returns as a guest lecturer in their Theatre and Performance Department.

Tatenda recently directed two rehearsed readings this summer for the New Views Festival at the National Theatre. After being nominated for an Offie Award for Best Performance Piece and winning Show of the Week at VAULT Festival 2023, his solo show NO I.D. transferred to the Royal Court in the spring. Tatenda also worked as assistant director on A Streetcar Named Desire at the Almeida Theatre, followed by its West End transfer to the Phoenix Theatre.
