In this conversation, Wise Children’s own Composer and Musical Director Ian Ross is joined on stage by Benji Bower and Elizabeth Purnell to discuss the process of creating music for theatre, where their influences come from and the impact a score can have.
Ian Ross is Wise Children’s Composer and Musical Director and has composed work for Kneehigh and Shakespeare’s Globe.
Benji Bower is a Composer and Musical Director and has created work for the National Theatre, Bristol Old Vic, Tobacco Factory Theatres and Sadler’s Wells.
Elizabeth Purnell is a composer, arranger and sound designer working in film, theatre, TV and radio. She is also an orchestrator who has worked on many BAFTA, EMMY and Oscar winning scores for feature films, TV Drama, pop arrangements and BBC natural history series.
