Makers Meet Up with Tom Marshman
Doing the whole thing - A Tea Party for Theatre MakersThis is an event specially designed for those artists that direct, write, produce and perform their own work. Although you do not have to do all three, the meet up is designed more for artists that don’t fit into "one tidy role".
During this fun relaxed Tea party Tom will share and swap survival tips, encouraging sharing resources in between having a good gossip over a cup of tea and a chat.
Tom has been a practicing artist for nearly 25 years, and produced over 60 projects, across many mediums, including museum audio-tours, theatre & cabaret. Actively encouraging dialogue with participants, through socially engaged processes such as ‘Tea Parties’, allows him evocative glimpses into everyday life, letting me tell engaging, poetic & unpretentious stories. An overarching theme of his work is that of the outsider & their story, particularly regarding the LGBTQ+ experience, and stories that been omitted through archival silence.
