Wild Body Wild Voice workshop
The Theatre on The DownsExplore your physical and vocal self through movement and song. Join us for lots of exploratory exercises using your body and voice as a way to express yourself and play with others.
Humans are creative beings. In our natural state we dance, sing, play and speak interchangeably when we communicate with others and express ourselves, however we seem to lose this quality as we get older. We will explore breath, different types of movement, rhythm, harmony and end with some circle songs.
No experience necessary, just a willingness to try! Aisha is a vocal artist, improviser, composer, inclusion and cultural producer, workshop facilitator and artistic director of Kiota: A Collective of BIPOC creatives in Bristol. She is trained in the art of fooling and vocal improv and primarily works with the voice.
Tim is an independent movement creative working in theatre, film and creative tech. Their practice is centred on the joy of connecting with our bodies, and how physical movement can express, communicate and deepen connections between people.
Pay What You Choose
We’ve introduced a flexible pricing scheme for a number of events. Find out more about it here.
- Open Concession – we know these times are extraordinary, so if you don’t have the extra cash right now, don’t worry; book this price range and let us welcome you with open arms.
- Standard – if you can afford to, please book this rate; the extra money you give will support The Theatre on The Downs and the independent artists and companies on its stage, in what is still an incredibly precarious time.
- Pay It Forward – if you’re feeling generous and you have the means, please consider choosing this rate. Each Pay It Forward ticket subsidises two concession tickets, and helps more people experience the delight of watching live theatre.
