Tell us a bit about yourself…
I am an artist based in Exeter, interested in installation art and theatre, and am a resident artist at arts studio Kaleider. My writing has been performed at venues including Battersea Arts Centre, Theatre Royal Plymouth and Theatre 503.

What are you presenting at Ferment Fortnight?
I am presenting an audio performance called NOISE, which is an intimate, multi-sensory piece of storytelling. It takes place on a reimagined Dartmoor, and follows the intertwining stories of an insomniac mole, and a dog-tired builder.

What inspired/influenced your piece?
I am interested in how art can be used to intervening in the pace of modern life, so wanted to create something meditative, that offered audiences a chance to sit down and close their eyes for an hour. The piece is influenced by meditation tapes, children’s books, and the ever growing issue of humankinds relationship with nature. I am also interested in how the time of day one experiences a show affects reception so am performing at 1100, 1300 and 1800 on 10th July, to test how this works.

What does the work that Ferment do mean to you?
It’s such a great platform to share new work, and receive feedback and also to see what other theatre makers are up to and get inspired.

What would you say the audience can expect in three words?
Contemporary, relaxed storytelling.

Ferment Fortnight kicks off at Arnolfini 9-11 July before returning to Bristol Old Vic for four more nights of scratch theatre 13-21 July. For more info and to book tickets, click here.
