Meet Firebird!

21 Jul 2026

Firebird Theatre is a Company of Learning Disabled artists based in Bristol.

The company works as an ensemble of experienced Learning Disabled performers with a consistent track record of making plays and performances together for over thirty years. Bristol Old Vic is very proud to have been able to support them on that journey since the beginning.

Firebird is Learning Disabled-led: its members make the decisions about the company's art, its direction and its future.

Their production of The Tempest opens at Bristol Old Vic's Weston Studio this week and we are thrilled to be able to introduce the fabulous company to you - in their own words!
