Adult Company Spring Term 2025

This term Adult Company will be exploring working with text. Whether as a framework for more experimental performance, an invitation to play with language and rhythm, or a clear roadmap for a traditional "scene", we will learn how to break texts down to get to the heart of them and bring them to life.

We will also explore how we play with concept, staging and other performance "languages" (such as movement and sound) to elevate text.

Eli Lower

Eli is a director, writer and dramaturg. Their practice is cross-disciplinary and wrestles with/celebrates text, collaboration, environment, tenderness, noise, control and joy. They are a resident of the Pervasive Media studio where they are developing the interactive immersive work we meet in the woods.

Their short screenplay PUT YOUR HEAD UNDER was longlisted for the First Time Filmmaker prize by Academy Award-winning production company Slick Films in 2024. Recent directing work includes: Green Man (Elevate Festival, The Egg Theatre), I Joan (Arts University Bournemouth), Beautiful Thing (Bristol School of Acting).
