Young Company: 25-30 Session
Autumn Term 2024This Autumn we will be launching a term aimed at ages 25-30.
We have noticed that there is a demand for theatre sessions for this age bracket, as opportunities for young people usually stop at age 25. These sessions are for anyone who hasn’t had the chance to explore theatre in education, or who has been involved in youth theatre and is looking for their next step.
25-30 Company is your space to meet with other like-minded individuals and create theatre, guided by a professional theatre practitioner. Each term of 25-30 Company will be led by a practitioner with a focus on a specific area of theatre, such as text, verbatim theatre, movement, and many more.
NEW 25-30 Company Autumn Term — 10 weeks
25-30 Company Sessions
Term starts: w/c Mon 23 Sep
Half Term (no sessions): w/c Mon 28 Oct
Term ends: w/c Mon 2 Dec
Session time: Monday, 8—10pm
Location: Bristol Old Vic
Fee: £105 per term
Theme: Devising from Text
This term, we will look at Devising from Text. During the term we will have the chance to explore pre-existing texts to deepen our character work, listening and reacting and techniques to get the most out of dialogue. Alongside this we will be exploring how the texts studied can be used as starting points to devise new work, using devising skills explored within the term.
We will combine our text, character and devising skills to explore ideas such as what role do classic texts play in modern theatre and how we can incorporate or use pre-existing text when devising new theatre.

Fees and Bursaries
We have a limited number of bursary grants that are available in cases of genuine hardship for anyone who will struggle to pay Young Company fees. Bursaries should be applied for when booking opens on Wednesday 29 May at 10am.
Applying for a bursary means we automatically reserve you a space for Young Company, so you do not need to make a paid booking in addition to your bursary application, and you will have the option to buy your reserved place if your bursary application is not successful.
Please visit the Fees & Bursaries page to download a bursary application form.
Bursary applications for Autumn term will be accepted between Wednesday 29 May at 10am and Wednesday 3 Jul. When a Young Company session has reached capacity we will not accept bursary places for that session.
Please send the application form in as soon as possible, to avoid disappointment.
