Pricing Information
Ticket Types and Pricing
Because the world has changed a little bit recently, we’ve changed our tickets too. For selected shows, there are some new details we thought you’d like to know about:
Pay What You Choose
We’d like everyone who wants to experience an in-person show at Bristol Old Vic to be able to. To help with this, we’re introducing flexible Pay What You Choose pricing for the majority of events in our programme.
How does it work?
On pay what you choose events, when you check out, you’ll be give a choice of 3 different prices:
- Open Concession – if you don’t have the cash right now, don’t worry; book this price range and let us welcome you with open arms.
- Standard – if you can afford to, please book this rate; the extra money you give will support your theatre and the independent artists and companies on its stages.
- Pay It Forward – if you’re feeling generous and you have the means, please consider choosing this rate. Each Pay It Forward ticket subsidises two Open Concession tickets, and helps more people experience the delight of watching live theatre.
All you have to do is select the price bracket that best suits your budget and continue to checkout.
Courtyard Tickets
Events on our Courtyard Stage are sold per table rather than per person. You purchase a single ticket for the whole table, and the tables either sit up to 2, 3, 4 or 6 people. There are single seat tickets available too, though these will not have a table.
Our prices will change a little depending on what the show is, but the pricing will always be pretty straightforward and is based on how many people can fit on a table. For example, for a show where a table of 2 is £20, a table for 3 will be £30, a table for 4 will be £40 and a table for 6 will be £60. The exception to this is our Pay What You Choose pricing (see details above).
Your booked table will be reserved for you an hour before the show starts, so you can arrive, have a drink and get settled before the fun begins.
Book early for the best prices
Across our range of performances, ticket prices may vary according to demand. By booking early, you can secure the best seats at the best price. We guarantee that prices will not vary for Preview performances, Monday evenings and midweek matinees*.
Dynamic pricing helps us to ensure that our organisation is sustainable and that we can continue to create world-class theatre, support ascending artists and engage all communities of Bristol in our work for years to come.
To access the best prices at the earliest opportunity, consider becoming a Friend of Bristol Old Vic for just £45 per year.
*Some exclusions apply
Fees
We’ve scrapped our booking fees to simplify the ticket buying process, and to become more transparent at the point of purchase. If you choose to have your tickets sent via post, however, a £1 fee will apply.
Postage fees (per order, not per ticket) cover the costs of postage and packaging so that Bristol Old Vic can continue to create pioneering theatre, support ascending artists and widen access to our programme. E-tickets (a PDF attachment) do not have to be printed and may be presented instead on a mobile device when you come to a performance at the theatre. Please have them downloaded and ready to show the usher when you arrive. Paperless ticketing goes towards supporting our aim to become a more environmentally sustainable organisation.
If the performance you have booked is within the next 7 days, your tickets will default to collection from the Box Office. If you do not receive your tickets in the post, they can be re-issued by the Box Office on the day of the performance. We do not post tickets to overseas addresses.
