The Future Fund
INVEST IN THE FUTURE
The positive impact of the arts on wellbeing is beyond doubt. We know that arts and cultural activity, along with an arts education, equip people of all ages with valuable skills and knowledge for the future. This not only supports personal development but also fosters long-term social cohesion.
For some it provides an essential precursor to a career in the arts, and for all it provides a fulfilling creative intervention — the impact of which lasts a lifetime.
The state of our economy has directly contributed to the growth of inequality in our society with UK arts education in state schools now at risk for 93% of children and young people.

WHAT IS OUR RESPONSE?
For 30 years, Bristol Old Vic’s Young Company programme has offered creative opportunities for our city’s young people. Since 1994, the programme has grown to reflect societal demands and the needs of individuals we engage with.
With your support we will expand our young company programme over the next three years, focusing on areas of Bristol with historically low cultural engagement. This will include South Bristol alongside our continued work in East and Central Bristol.
Our programmes will target those who are in most need, with a strategy to maximise our impact, providing free access to our activity wherever it’s required.
Our work supports young people by building their self-confidence, their self esteem and their belief that they themselves can choose a positive direction of travel.

HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT?
We are seeking your support through pledges of between £10,000 and £20,000 a year for the next three years that we’ll use to fund the expansion of our programmes for young people.
Your gifts will enable us to scale up our activity and reach more young people, positively impacting more lives for years to come.
This is a unique opportunity to support the next generation of young people by equipping them with life skills developed through creativity - an opportunity that is being eroded for many young people in state education.
