For more than 30 years, Bristol Old Vic has been a space where young people can engage with the arts, develop new skills and find their voice. Today, our programmes reach individuals and communities throughout the city, where arts education and cultural access is under increasing pressure. Artist development
We are committed to providing opportunities for South West based artists to develop their work with professional support. Across a variety of programmes, we support emerging artists to build sustainable creative careers from the ground up through workshops, mentoring and opportunities. Supporting emerging artists is vital to ensure the future of the sector, and to be able to offer a tangible pathway for South West creatives.
Shows on stage
Our work on stage has a reputation for harnessing the rebellious spirit of the region, sharing ambitious stories that speak to our city, our region and the world today. We produce and co-produce up to 8 shows every year, creating theatre for a national stage, right here in Bristol. Your support enables us to create ambitious work, champion local talent, and keep theatre accessible for all audiences.
I have been in Young SixSix for 5 years now and the amount of opportunities it has given me is really quite incredible. I feel very set up for life as it has shown me how many different things you can do with your life and with theatre. It’s given me a lot of confidence and a lot of really good connections.

Young Company is an amazing space where you can learn all the different qualities in drama whether that is acting, stage design, props – all the creative aspects of it and it opens so many doors for people on a creative journey.
