A new Made in Bristol for 2026!
Made in Bristol is a free training programme for 18-25 year old theatre makers based in Bristol.
For MIB 260, we are looking for all theatre makers; actors, performers, designers, facilitators, stage managers, technicians, lighting designers, choreographers, musicians and composers!
The cohort will become resident at Bristol Old Vic, for two days a week, from January to July and full time in September & October 2026.
To celebrate the 260th anniversary of our Theatre, MIB 260 will deliver a free Theatre in Education tour to Bristol Secondary Schools. These pieces will be performed by members of MIB 260, and directed by Artistic Director, Nancy Medina and Lisa Gregan, Literary and Directors’ Associate.
MIB 260 will be supported and mentored in a range of disciplines including performance, design (set, costume, sound, lighting), technical skills, stage management and facilitation.
Who is MIB 260 for?
- People aged 18-25 from Bristol and the surrounding areas, with an interest in creative facilitation, co-creation, participatory arts and theatre for young people and family audiences
- Actors, performers, designers, technicians, facilitators, stage managers, lighting designers, choreographers, musicians and composers!
What will it involve?
- Working with professional directors, writers and other industry professionals
- Delivering a schools tour in Bristol
- Training in workshop development & leading
- Creating work for various communities, school and youth theatres
- Curating and performing in a Family Day at BOV with our Heritage department
What will you get out of it?
- Opportunity to take part in a FREE training programme at Bristol Old Vic
- Receive mentorship from professional directors and writers
- Skills to facilitate creative spaces with a wide variety of communities
- A pathway into the industry, which will offer a range of paid roles to its graduates
- Receive £100 per week for the intensive rehearsals and tour (7 weeks approx.)
